Kobushi Magnolia Plate / Medium

A plate featuring a single magnolia kobushi flower in gentle colors, hand-painted using the traditional sometsuke technique called dami, where a thick brush is used like a dropper to create bold, flowing strokes.
Each flower is painted individually, blooming one by one under the artisan’s hand.
Though the design may be hidden once food is placed on it, the flower reveals itself again at the end of the meal, adding a gentle touch of delight.

This versatile plate is perfect for serving cake or as a side plate for meals.
It can also be paired with the separately sold American cup as a cup & saucer set.
