This Columbine Plate showcases a single delicate columbine flower, painted using the “Dami” technique—a traditional sometsuke (blue-and-white porcelain) method where a thick brush is used like a dropper to create bold, flowing strokes. Each bloom is carefully painted by hand, giving the design a natural and expressive character.

When food is placed on the plate, the flower may be hidden, but it reappears as the meal ends—adding a gentle and delightful surprise.

The plate is perfectly sized for cake, cookies, or as a versatile side dish plate. Collecting different floral patterns for family or guests allows you to change the mood of your table depending on the day or occasion. It can also be paired with the separately sold American Cup to form a cup & saucer set.
